I discovered this special island resort eight years ago and this will be my 4th time leading a retreat here. There is no better place to take a break from life and tune in to your body and soul.

Thatch Caye is an All-Inclusive Private Island Resort in Belize offering overwater bungalows and island cabanas. Thatch Caye Resort sits on its own private island off the coast of Dangriga, Belize. Only 30 guests at a time can stay at this picture-perfect destination, guaranteeing a unique experience.

With Thatch Caye as the backdrop, this KLARITY Mindsette Yoga and Mindfulness Retreat offers a true RESET. In addition to two yoga classes offered daily, we will delve deeper into the gifts of mindfulness through meditation, workshops, journaling, and discussion.

The retreat will begin on Thursday, February 4th, with an evening Yoga class followed by an Opening Circle and dinner. The retreat will end on Tuesday, February 9th, with our final morning vinyasa class before departure. In addition to twice-daily yoga classes and mindfulness workshops, there will be plenty of time to relax, swim, paddle, kayak, schedule spa appointments, and explore the many excursion options. At Thatch Caye Resort, the all-inclusive, island style package includes three meals per day, snacks and local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They hire the best local chefs to ensure they have a wide variety of Belizean and international dishes. They cater to any dietary needs; just let them know when you book your trip what you require.

Overwater Bungalows:

Perched above the crystal-clear Caribbean ocean, these spacious overwater bungalows offer a perfect retreat for two adults, providing exceptional comfort and breathtaking private island views. These Belize bungalows share a large, communal deck where hammocks gently sway in the island breeze.

Each bungalow features its own private bathroom with a shower and air-conditioning (though the refreshing ocean breeze will likely keep you cool). Our Belize overwater bungalows offer the quintessential private island experience at a great value.

Oceanfront Cabanas:

Nestled in a prime location on our private island, our Oceanfront Cabanas offer breathtaking Caribbean ocean views. Each features an en-suite bathroom, king-sized or twin beds, cozy window seats, comfortable chairs, and dining tables for a truly relaxing stay. A 400 sq. ft. private rooftop deck, complete with hammocks and lounge chairs, offers the perfect place to unwind and soak in the stunning natural surroundings.

While these cabanas are equipped with air conditioning, we recommend opening the windows to enjoy the cool, refreshing breeze from the Caribbean Sea.

GETTING TO THATCH CAYE:

Arriving at the Belize International Airport:

Belize International Airport is a small airport that provides excellent signage to help travelers get through customs and transfer to your in-country flight to Dangriga. At the point of entry, a passport and proof of return or onward ticket are required. When booking your international flight, we recommend arriving in Belize City no later than 3:00 pm.

Transferring to the Dangriga Airstrip and your final destination:

You have a few choices on how to travel from Belize City to Dangriga, the closest town to our island resort. You can take the breathtaking 15 minute commuter flight down the coast of Belize to the Dangriga Airstrip. We are happy to arrange your connecting flight. You can also take the Muy'Ono Explorer $150 US round trip, per person. This is a 2 hour tour throughout Belize with a welcome drink, air conditioned van, tour guide, and refreshment/bathroom stops. If you would like to book your own transportation, please verify times of flight before booking. You can also choose to rent a car and drive to Dangriga.

As you arrive in Dangriga, one of our guides will be waiting to pick you up to drive you to the dock at the Pelican Beach Resort for the boat pick up. Boat pickups happen daily at 2:30pm and 4:30pm (subject to change). If you arrive in Dangriga early, you can enjoy a meal and beverages at their beachside restaurant. After, experience the 25 minute, 9 mile boat ride from Dangriga to the island. The boat ride to and from the island is included with your all-inclusive accommodations.
