Listening to Our “Inner Cheerleader”

Last week was a busy one for me. I led my first in-person KLARITY Mindsette corporate workshop for 40 people from a huge company at the Empire State Building and my October retreat at Thatch Caye in Belize officially *SOLD OUT*. The picture above is from Thatch Caye on my last retreat. I cannot wait to be back!!
Leading up to the corporate workshop last week I found myself battling… well myself. My inner critic was loud and it was cruel so I stepped away and devoted some time to thinking about our human tendency to give so much credence to the negative voices and not listen as much to our “inner cheerleader”.
The day of my workshop I made a choice to channel my inner cheerleader and I reconnected to the confidence that I knew was there. It was a powerful experience in many ways and it became my message for the week.
I asked students on the mat this week to notice where they went in the mind when they were challenged in their bodies on the mat or faced with something out of their comfort zone. With practice we can choose to quiet the critic and listen to the cheerleader instead. The mat is a wonderful place to cultivate this practice and we know whatever we practice we get better at– even channeling our inner cheerleader!
