Let there be Light

Happy Monday! I apologize for the especially long newsletter today. This past week I shared a reading by Mark Nepo that talks about the value of trusting ourselves and not giving up when we are trying new things or stepping out of our comfort zone.  It inspired me because I truly needed that reminder. I am working on a couple of exciting projects and at times have been feeling the overwhelm of the unknown. Here is the passage:

Let There Be Light, Mark Nepo

Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live -Goethe

When Edison was discovering the light bulb, he first engaged in a process of envisioning how an unseeable current of energy could be harnessed and turned into light. Like most of us, the vision came first. Once he understood what came to him, it took quite some time to find the precise material that would work as a filament in the bulb itself.

Later, when asked if he ever grew discouraged or thought he was wasting his time, Edison said no, he learned something important each time he tried. He learned that there was another material not to be used.

The lessons here are very telling and transferable, especially to how we seek our calling in the world and to how we seek out love. To be willing to envision what we need is powerful and real, and just as crucial is the confidence of spirit to know that it will work, even though we haven’t found where we belong who whom to love yet. Equally as vital is the perseverance in trying to find precisely what will work.

But perhaps the most inspiring part of Edison’s journey is how he didn’t view his many attempts as any type of failure on his part, but rather as an inevitable part of the process of discovery.

finally, after all of this, we are challenged, scientist and lover alike, to use what we discover and live in the light.

When we try new things on the mat or off we may stumble or need to back off and change course. The practice is in accepting what we need in that moment and growing and learning from it just as Edison did. This trust in ourselves truly allows us to live in the light.

In the spirit of trusting myself and living in the light I have some exciting news to share.

Firstly, I am excited to announce that I have launched a KLARITY Mindsette Substack blog. In this Substack blog I will be sharing different and more in depth content about cultivating a consistent mindfulness practice with the principles and techniques from my KLARITY Mindsette Mindfulness program. This is an additional offering to my newsletter and I would be honored if you would join me there.

Here is the link to check out my first post.

Secondly, I am excited to share that I am in the beginning stages of co-authoring a book of mindfulness stories. This is a brand new endeavor for me so if anyone has any advice please reach out to me. I would welcome it. 🙂

Lastly, as I mentioned last week, KLARITY Mindsette RESET Portugal is SOLD OUT however I am in the final stages of locking in my 2025 Retreats.

* KM RESET Marathon is Feb 1st-3rd 2025 at Isla Bella Resort in Marathon Key.I am still finalizing pricing and getting my site updated so I will let everyone know once sign ups are open.

* KM RESET Europe (destination soon TBA) will take place in Fall of 2025. Stay tuned for details on that soon!

This is all exciting and a bit scary. I am grateful to Edison not only for his discovery of the light bulb but also for his willingness to learn and persevere in order to make his vision a reality. My practice is to take that inspiration into my new projects and I wish the same for all of you.

I will be traveling at the end of this week so I am only teaching Monday morning and Wednesday lunchtime but I will be back next week. See below for my schedule.
